Volunteer leaders face an increasingly challenging environment. Although the changing face of board governance was already well advanced and dynamic, issues related to the global COVID pandemic have accelerated these challenges. A struggling economy, innovations in technology, demographic changes and an aging volunteer and membership base, a general shift in values and how people value things such as time, effort, who they engage with, etc., and governance expectations surrounding non-profit boards have all had significant influences on the traditional responsibilities of board leadership. Volunteer leaders are operating in an environment filled with unexpected challenges but also have a unique and perhaps once in a lifetime opportunity to re-imagine their organization." What might the characteristics of "effective" non-profit boards of the future be like? In particular, how might we conceive of future boards that would genuinely be able to assist their organizations navigate such challenging waters and, in turn, help them to successfully deliver on their mission?

  • Thumbnail for Keynote: The Cube of Creativity: Why adding constraints sparks innovation, action & builds business

    November 17, 2022

Sure. Covid-19 created some constraints. We are constrained to our desks, our homes, our families, and Zoom calls. We’re constrained to virtual events, virtual sales calls, virtual networking, virtual happy hours. For some, all these constraints severely affected our businesses. For others, the constraints became their fuel for growth. If the pandemic has taught us anything, it’s that constraints breed creativity. In this exhilarating and inspiring 60-minute session, Andrew Davis will break down the five limitations you can add to any initiative to drive better outcomes.

You’ll learn how one non-profit turned its shutdown into millions of dollars in donations. Andrew will reveal how a small bet with massive restraints resulted in a best-selling book. He’ll even show you how one business beat the pandemic by snooping through old SEC filings.

More importantly, you’ll walk away ready to apply smart constraints to your business: limitations that result in more significant success.

Are you ready to embrace the constraints?
