Michael Reed

Michael Reed is an organizational development expert who has spent 25 years working with nonprofits and their leaders. He is currently the Executive Director of the American Fence Association, the leading trade group representing suppliers and contractors in the $7B fence industry.

As an executive, he has led membership, certification, and HR functions. As a consultant, Michael designed and executed transformational change efforts at professional societies and trade organizations. Throughout his career, he has served in various volunteer leadership roles and understands the challenges of volunteer leadership. He is currently on the professional development committee for the AMC Institute, the trade association for association management companies. Michael's insights regarding board governance have helped leaders drive change and provide greater value to stakeholders.

Michael is a graduate of San Francisco State University and George Washington University. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, where his dissertation research focuses on trust and governance in member-serving organizations.
